Shrimplets spotted in Planted Tank 1!!!

I was looking for the dead pregnant cherry but found it missing from the spot that I last place it. I think it should be some shrimps' meal now as I found a piece of it left on the tip of the java moss. However, as I was enjoying the view on my Planted Tank 1, I spotted a small thing on the glass wall and it is a shrimplet! Found another one at the other side of the glass wall. I was so happy that this is the first time I can see shrimplets in this tank. This means that the some pregnant cherry shrimps have their eggs hatched and have shrimplets. So happy finally after all my hard work converting this tank to a shrimp tank and so many deaths before this, I was getting worried that if I made a wrong choice. : P

Above is one of the Bumblebee shrimp that is inside my Planted Tank 1. I know its colour is a little dull but better than die on me, right? Luckily yesterday weather was cooling so water temperature is cool, just nice for these guys. Hopefully they can survive in my Planted Tank 1 and Shrimp tank. Also I have plans to transfer the smaller boraras into the Planted Tank 1 to reduce the bioload and also crowding of fishes in that tank. Should be doing that tomorrow after work.

I have also completed tying of mini moss (from NA) onto 2 driftwood and pellia (from Wilson) on a big black pebble. Had a slightly hard time tying the pellia on the black pebble as it tends to slip or gets loose if not tied properly. I try not to tie too tight in case I injure the pellia. Now all of them are in the shallow tank waiting for the moss and pelia to grow out of the fish line. This may take a few weeks or more than 1 month. See how it goes. May transfer to my Planted Tank 1 or 2 if required since it is crowded in the shallow tank right now, especially on the RHS.

Wow, a Eden 501. I was thinking of getting one but rather x for my budget. How much she got for it in HK? For 2 ft, I personally think a little low but will still do. If keep a lot of fish then get a bigger capacity one. Would look nice if placed beside the 1 ft tank. : ) Not really overkill to me.

I thought u want to go into CRS? Use cherry for trial? I think better get bumblebee since they are more similar to CRS. Cherry more hardy and heard someone able to keep cherry and malayan but not CRS in same tank. Need to take note.

As for foreground:
Glosso - why not. Looks nice but I prefer hairgrass. Look like big grass patch with shrimps looks nicer.
Riccia - Maintenance is a BIG problem but have the best bubble rate. Like they say, easy come not easy go.
Moss - Not a bad choice but I cannot recommend which one to get since I do not use them as foreground. One of Justikani post mention he use moss as foreground if I not wrong. Should be in AQ.

I would keep low dense foreground so that the rocks can stand out better. Glosso looks like the best choice (seen someone do before but make sure enough light or it will grow tall too, if I remember correctly). Moss and riccia may need trimming which is more of a hassle. But, like I always say, do what you think is good for you!It is a matter of personal preference!

I bought both Ehiem 2231 & 2232.I know it is a good buy. Was thinking of getting 2232 from NA this Sun. Will try to convince my wife to allow me to keep more 2 ft tanks with the spare! : P

How much is that in $SGD? Sorry don't know the conversion rate for $HK to $SG.

Guppies can breed like rabbits so might need to consider (unless all males). Then Eden 501 should still be able to handle the bioload. I like corys but not suitable tank to keep them now.

You can try maintaining suitable environment for the cherries first. They should breed like rabbits. I can understand but bumblebee cheaper than CRS. That is why I want to try bumblebee first. Also what grade of CRS are you considering?

Yes. Shrimps need moss for food and shelter. Not sure glosso serve the same function. I think can tie moss on the rocks (but not so nice). I personally think rock scape not suitable for shrimps. Moss tank still the best if u as me.

It is Echinodorus tenellus. Prefer the other type. I have these as well.
